These past few days I’ve been trying out micro.blog to manage my social media posts. I write posts at scotthanson.micro.blog. micro.blog shares those posts with BlueSky and Mastodon. A task at ifttt.com (pro account, 2.40€ per month) shares the post with Twitter/X. It’s been working pretty well.

This is actually a test of a longer post with a title, something like a blog post. It should just post the title and a link to the 3 services, and not the full content of the post. We’ll see if it works! 😃

Update It mostly worked! The posts to BlueSky and Mastodon were exactly as I expected. The ifttt task published the title and ifttt URL that points to my blog post, instead of the actual URL. I guess for the price I can live with that.

Update 2 The ifttt URL shortener is on by default, but can be deactivated in the account settings.
